PARNAAM SHAHEEDAN NU

Guru Gobind Singh ji Sahib left Sri Anandpur Sahib on this night of 6-7 Poh in 1704, with Matajis, Sahibzadey, Singhs, Singhniya, Bhujanigis and Valuable Gurbaani Granths (including Saroop of Sri Dasam Granth, which got lost in River Sarsa's Flood), after a Seize of 7 months by Mughals and Hindu Pahari Kings who promised a safe passage to Guruji.
Trashing their promises and oaths, Mughals and Hindus attacked Guru Sahib's Dal at 'SIAHI TIBBI', where a Fierce Battle took place.
Guru Gobind Singh Ji Sahib did ASA DI VAAR KIRTAN here Himself despite JANG going on on banks of River Sarsa with Sangat and Singhs (showing how important NITNEM, KIRTAN and BAANI is for a Gursikh).
Baba Ajit Singh ji Sahib got surrounded by enemies at SIAHI TIBBI, and Baba Jeevan Singh Ji went to break the cordon and bring back Babaji to Guru Sahib.
As Guru Sahib did Kirtan and Ardas and started crossing River Sarsa, Guru Sahib's family got separated in three groups. Maharaj with their Dal moved towards Kotla Nihang Khan, Mata Gujri Ji and Chote Sahibzadey went with Bhai Kumma Maashki, while Mata Sundri Ji and Mata Sahib Kaur ji were taken by Baba Mani Singh Ji towards Safety to Delhi.
AMAR SHAHEED BABA UDAI SINGH JI AND 100 SINGHS UNDER HIS COMMAND FOUGHT A HISTORIC BATTLE ON BANKS OF RIVER SARSA TO PROTECT GURU SAHIB AND THEIR FAMILY. EACH SINGH ATTAINED SHAHEEDI FIGHTING THIS BATTLE.
ON THE OTHER BANK OF RIVER SARSA, AMAR SHAHEED BABA BACHITTAR SINGH JI, ELDER BROTHER OF BABA UDAI SINGH JI WITH A JATHA OF 100 SINGHS, FOUGHT AND STOPPED MUGHAL ARMIES COMING FROM ROPAR TO ARREST/KILL GURU JI. BABA BACHITTAR SINGH JI LATER ATTAINED SHAHEEDI AT KOTLA NIHANG KHAN.

Battle of Chamkaur

1483085_613195295407130_87576802_n

December 20, 1705 Battle of Chamkaur between Guru Gobind Singh Ji and His Singhs (48) against against Mughal Forces Over 10 Lakh.
After Mughal Emperor and Hindu Hill Chiefs offered a safe Passage to leave Anandpur Sahib, Guru Ji and his Sikhs vacated Anandpur Sahib and were attacked by the Mughal army led by Wazir Khan as they were crossing the river Sarsa. A group of Sikhs held the Mughal Army back while rest of Sikhs and Guru crossed the river. During the crossing, Guru was separated from His mother and his two younger sons. Guru along with his 2 elder sons and 45 Sikhs were able to cross. Bhai Budhi Chand offered the Guru and his Singhs to stay at his Haveli in the Town of Chamkaur. The Mughal army through a messenger found where Guru Sahib and his Singhs were resting and Singhs used the Haveli as a Fort for the battle. On the request of Guru's son Baba Ajeet Singh was permitted to battle and he courageously fought the Mughal Army. He fought valiantly and his Kirpan broke but still fought with a spear and eventually became shaheed. Hearing the news, Baba Jujhar Singh asked Guru Ji to enter the battlefield, the guru embraced him for his faith in his Dharam. Baba Jujhar Singh fought with 3 other singhs valiantly, but eventually became shaheed. Fighting paused at nightfall, Five Singhs along with 2 of the Panj Pyare begged Guru Ji to leave after much talk Guru Ji left. At Dawn, the remaining Singhs charged towards the Mughals. Guru Ji escaped safely but not quietly as he blew his horn on top of high ground, as a sign that the Khalsa hasn't fallen.

118 Sikh Political Prisoners

1467202_970997982994369_1893596109_n

Just for info,We all know we cant do anything its not in our hand- As we r free and enjoying our life spare a few sec and have a look. Many of them have completed their sentence but still behind bars.Yeah its none of our biz to know all about these things. We have many more personal problems to deal...

Difference- Anna Hazare & Bhai Gurbax Singh

1469857_10200859247475895_683553658_n

The difference between two people Anna Hazare and Bhai Gurbax Singh. Anna hazare is a popular man, he is famous for whistle blowing, keeps fast to invite attention of public and stress govt. but he takes Glucose water and Lemonade during his fasts but....
Bhai Gurbax Singh who hails form a small town of Haryana called Kurukshetra is a brave man. to-day is his 30th day of FAST UNTO DEATH, he has become so weak that the chances are of his kidney failure. His life can end any time but he is determined on his demands to release the Sikh prisoners who have completed their awarded jail term?
What's wrong in this demand? What right does any state or the indian govt. have to keep such persons behind bars in illegal captivity? The silence of Indian judiciary and its agency the Supreme Court is also silent on vOICE OF SIKH NATION? Why does the Indian govt. is so keen to suppress Sikhs and carry out the atrocities against them? Its failed to carry out its constitutional responsibility to provide justice to all without any discrimination but it's itself responsible to violate it than who is there to meet the demands bhai-gurbax-singhof Sikhs?
Anna hazare and its supportive NGOs pay a huge amount for his popularity through media but we are fighting for a right purpose but the silence of so-called secular indian political parties and Hindu organizations compel us to think the other way, we say a huge rift in both these communities despite assurances by hindu organizations that they stand with Sikhs?
If such discriminations continue, we shall have no other option then think and make all efforts to depart from India and make our own nation as we are worried of our coming generations also. We don't want to gift them insecurity, injustice and slavery but a free nation of them to grow independently like Canada or any other western country.
So please listen our voice and do not ignore it. Your ignorance can be harmful for you tomorrow, harmful for this nation and harmful for every citizen of India may belong to any state or religion. We should work for prosperity, unity and harmony so please stop doing injustice with us.1476643_642545049120021_624104891_n

One continually yearns for more & more; but unless he is destined to receive, how can he have it? He is entangled in wealth, bestowed by the Lord God; the unfortunate one attaches himself to the fire of desires.

Baba Zorawar Singh Ji

Technorati Tags: ,,,

November 28, 1696 Birth of Sahibzada Zorawar Singh Ji at Anandpur Sahib, 3rd son of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Baba Zorawar Singh Ji was only 9 years of age at the time of the evacuation of Anandpur and attained Shaheedi on December 26, 1705 by being bricked alive with his younger brother Sahibzada Fateh Singh Ji by the Mughals.
Fateh Singh is probably the youngest recorded martyr in history who knowingly laid down his life at the very tender age of 6 years. Sahibzada Fateh Singh and his older brother, Sahibzada Zorawar Singh are among the most hallowed martyrs in Sikhism.
The mind boggles to understand how children of such young age had the guts, courage, bravery and focus to refuse the promise of many lavish gifts and a future of cosy comforts of royalty that were being offered by the Mughals. All they had to do to get all these luxuries was to abandon their religion. This young child was asked to weigh an easy out against the stark option of a brutal, painful and tragic death entombed within a wall of bricks and cement.
The world salutes the supreme sacrifice of these kids of steel who never once - even for a moment considered the easy option and always remained focused on their mission to uphold the principles of God's kingdom and allowed their bodies to be tortured, violated and endured the intense pain of a slow, pain-ridden and certain death.
On the one hand the world witnessed, the supreme sacrifice of the youngest members of the Guru's household for the highest ideals of humanity and on the other hand you have the lowly, cruel, cold-blooded and barbaric acts of the heartless and immoral Wazir Khan who had broke an oath sworn on his own Holy book—the Qur'an. May the world reflect on this supreme sacrifice made by this 6 year old, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Guru Tegh Bahadar to fight for justice and for the right of his people and people of other faiths to practise their own faiths without interference or imposition. May we all, the different peoples of our planet learn from this episode in our global history, the values of life and the way to uphold these values. Also, may we all realise the dangers posed by uncontrolled and immoral minds on the development of humanity on this fragile earth.

Hunger strike to free Sikh prisoners languished since 1984 in India

A Sikh person sat on hunger strike until all the Sikh prisoners languished in Indian jails since 1984 are not freed. Almost all of them have completed their punishment but the racist Indian govt keeps them behind bars. This man Gurbax Singh was also imprisoned and after his release he raised voice for his other jail mates who are not freed.
This is a discrimination with Sikhs in India and an attempt to keep Sikh community as suppressed which they oppose. Sikhs are not Hindus but a sovereign and distinct religion (5th in largest in world). It’s a complete religion and fulfill all terms and conditions to be called a religion but all efforts by Indian govt. and majority Hindus are made to submerge this religion into main folds of Hindu religion. Thus every method to abolish Sikh culture or to eliminate them have been applied but Sikhs raise their voice in solidarity all over the world.

Bhai Gurbaksh Singh has resorted to a hunger protest in a final and desperate bid to wake the conscience of the Indian Government that refuses to release the Sikh political prisoners who have long served the full term of their sentences yet continue to languish in jail.
It has been twelve days since Bhai Gurbaksh Singh last consumed any food but he remains in high spirits, we pray for his continued strength and chardi kala.

Guru Teg Bahadar Ji- 9th Sikh Guru

The Warriors Dance

Today we remember martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the 9th Guru of the Sikhs. Originally named Tyag Mal (Master of Renunciation) Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji fought so ferociously on the battlefield that his fellow warriors renamed the Guru Tegh Bahadur, which loosely translates to brave/mighty wielder of the sword.

Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was a living embodiment of the Sant/Sapai lifestyle as they spent the majority of their later life in deep meditation contemplating the message of the Gurus before them.

However their might of spirit would show itself once more in their final days as they chose to sacrifice their own existence so that another faith could continue to practice their religion freely.

We are all familiar with stories of sacrifice when fighting for faith or nation but this was the first time in history that the master of another way of being would chose to give up their right to life in order to ensure the prosperity of another’s freedom. To practice their way of being even though that way contradicted many lessons the Guru taught the Sikhs. This is the way of the Khalsa.

They are warriors who fight for righteousness and dharam. The only side they pick is the side of truth and Sarbat Da Bhalla (welfare of all mankind). Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji will forever be remembered as a shining example of that very ethos.

Martyrdom of 9th Guru of Sikhs

In early 1675, the Kashmiri Pandits approached Guru Tegh Bahadar to seek his assistance in their acute hour of need. These Hindus from Kashmir had been given a deadline by Emperor Aurangzeb to convert to Islam or be killed. Pandit Kripa Ram with his large delegation met Guru Tegh Bahadar at Chak Nanki, Kahlur (now known as Anandpur Sahib). He explained their dilemma to the Guru in the open Sangat at the place where today stands Gurdwara Manji Sahib, in Anandpur Sahib.

"The Emperor had given us some time to decide to convert to Islam or to be executed. The time for deciding has expired. Now, we have to convert to Islam or die. What shall we do? Guru ji, we have no one else to turn to. We don't have an army to protect us - We need your help. Please assist us", said Kripa Ram.

Guru ji is said to have gone into deep thought after Pandit Kripa Ram's request. At this point, it is said that Guru ji son, Gobind Rai walks into the Sangat to see Guru ji deep in thought.

"Guru ji, I see the acutely sad faces of the Sangat and you are silent and in deep thought. What is the problem?" asked Gobind Rai to his father. Gobind is about 9 years old at this stage.

Guru ji slowly turn to his son and explain the situation as concisely as possible.

"Betaa (Son), this is sangat from Kashmir. They are Hindus who have been friends of Sikhs since the time of Guru Nanak. They have a very serious problem on their hands" said Guru ji.

Gobind Rai replied, "Pita ji, you are the Guru of the entire world ("Jagat Guru"). You will know of a solution to all problems"

"Betaa, Emperor Aurangzeb has given them an ultimatum – If they do not become Muslims, he will kill them all", explained Guru ji.

Guru ji continued, "Some well-known Religion person ("Mahapurakh") will have to make a sacrifice to stop this butchery. We have to find a supreme soul who will die so as to awaken the sleeping consciousness of the people of Hind".

"Pita ji, there is an easy answer to this problem. You are the most spiritually aware person in whole of Hind. You can make that sacrifice", answered Gobind Rai.

Guru ji was pleased to hear these words as it confirmed that his son had reached a suitable age to become the next Guru, and that Guru ji's work on Earth had been completed.

Guru ji addressed the Pandits, "Go and tell Aurangzeb that if he can convert Guru Tegh Bahadar to Islam, they will all convert. Otherwise he should leave them alone"

The Pandits were delighted that a solution was found and duly informed Emperor Aurangzeb of the decision. Aurangzeb was delighted that by converting one person, he would without any further delay have the conversion of many 1000's to Islam. Accordingly he summoned his officers to arrest Guru Tegh Bahadar.

In November 1675, the 9th Guru (Guru Teg Bahadur), along with some of his companions were finally brought to Delhi and asked to convert to Islam or else face the penalty of death. Guru ji was also asked to perform a miracle. Guru Tegh Bahadur averred that he would rather sacrifice his life than give up his faith and his freedom or belief or perform a miracle. Thus, under Aurangzeb's orders, Guru ji and his companions were tortured. The Guru was chained and imprisoned in a cage and was tortured in the cruellest and the most inhuman ways for five long days. In order to terrorise him further into submission, one of his distinguished devotees (Bhai Mati Das) was sawn alive, another (Bhai Dyal Das) was boiled in the cauldron and the third (Bhai Sati Das) was roasted alive before the Guru.

Finally, the Guru himself was beheaded, under imperial warrant, in broad daylight, in the middle of a public square, the most prominent public place in India, called Chandni Chowk, of Delhi, on the charge that he was a stumbling block preventing the spread of Islam in the Indian subcontinent. The exact location of the beheading is marked by Gurdwara Sis Ganj in Delhi. His martyrdom was yet another challenge to the Sikh conscience.

It was then realized that there could be no understanding between an insensate power imbrued with blood and a proud people wedded to a life of peace with honour. The sacrifice roused the Hindus from their passive silence and gave them the fortitude to understand the power that comes from self-respect and sacrifice. Guru Tegh Bahadur thus earned the affectionate title of "Hind-di-Chadar" or the ‘Shield of India’.
